Longer walking routes in Sherwood Forest 8  to 14 miles

Edwinstowe walk 2  Moderate – 8 miles (13Km) A longer walk round some of the historic sites at the heart of Sherwood Forest, including parts not normally seen by visitors.

Warsop walk 9  Moderate – 8 miles  (13km)  The route includes old lanes, woodland and the sites of the two country mansions. Unfortunately it is impossible to avoid sections of road walking but interesting features along the route compensate for this.

Rufford walk 1 Moderate  – 8.2 miles (13.1 Km)   Sherwood Heath, Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, Rufford Country Park and Old Ollerton.

Blidworth walk 6 Moderate – 8.8 miles (14.1km)  The Blidworth full-round. Similar to above but more of the footpaths to the west of the village more ups and downs and some nettles on narrowest part of the path but nice pond and views.

Calverton walk 1 Moderate – 9 miles (15km). This one is a mix of history and habitats. Good views, woods, two hills and picturesque Oxton village.

Clumber walk 2  Moderate  – 9.3 miles (14.9km)  Clumber to Crookford as walk 1 with Clumber and the lake added.

Creswell Crags walk 2  Moderate – 9.5 miles (15.2). Most of the walk is on tracks, but fields can be muddy after heavy rain. Find out about the eccentric Duke of Portland and his buried coach roads before going.

Kings Clipstone  Robin Hood walk 3   Moderate – 9.5 miles(15.1) or combine with RH2 – 7miles (11.2km) – the only walk guide going past the Parliament Oak, Sherwood Forest’s oldest tree.

Worksop walk 2  Moderate – 10.3 miles (16.5km). A long circuit through the outer parts of Clumber and Welbeck. Good views of Worksop Manor, Manor Farm and Worksop with the spire of St John’s Church prominent.

Five Parks Trail 22.5km Moderate – 14 miles (22.5km). Mostly on good tracks or grass. A lot to see if you do your research first. Good spacing of tea rooms/pubs along the way.
